National President of SkillsUSA and Paradise Valley High School graduate, Katherine Leung, gave welcoming remarks to conference attendees. Ms. Leung spoke about the elitism in education that stigmatizes CTE and why this does not reflect the life-changing and positive impact that CTE can have on a student. Ms. Leung will attend Princeton University in the Fall of 2016 to study public policy.

Representatives from the Colorado Department of Education, Association of Career and Technical Education, Council of Chief State School Officers, Boston University’s School of Education, and the Education Commission of the States spoke on the panel.
